Lovingly built by my grandparents in the 1970s, and named Woodlands, the cabin’s original purpose was to provide a place for them to spend weekends with family and friends. My grandpa, a keen amateur pilot, even kept his plane here; and the grassed runway is still visible today. In time, they sold the property to dear friends, who then called Woodlands home for nearly 40 years. In 2022, when my husband and I learned they were looking to sell the property, the time felt right for us to take the big step of purchasing it. And so we did.
Following a year of weekends renovating, we’ve given the place some modern comforts whilst trying to preserve its yesteryear charm. We both feel very grateful and blessed to be the next caretakers of this magical place we call The Woodlands.
